The Impact of Health Coaching: A Personal Perspective on Unlocking Wellbeing

Updated: Jan 3

In the world of wellbeing, there's no one-size-fits-all solution. As a Health Coach, I’ve seen how transformative it can be when you receive personalised support that truly honours your unique journey towards health and happiness. Working with a Health Coach can be a game-changer, helping you move forward in ways you might not have expected.

Bio-individuality: Health coaching is a client lead approach whereby each health and wellness plan is tailored to each client’s individual needs—like a custom-made suit. Everyone is different, with their own preferences, challenges, and goals. That’s why my approach is not about telling you what to do. It's about providing the guidance that allows you to tap into your inner wisdom, resources and strengths. Whether it’s advice on food, lifestyle changes, or managing stress, I focus on what works best for you, in a way that feels natural and achievable.

Primary Foods: For me, health isn’t just about what you put on your plate—it’s about nourishing your whole life. Things like relationships, physical activity, career, and spirituality are just as important for your overall wellbeing. These "primary foods" feed your soul and shape your health, so I work with clients to find balance across all areas of life. When these aspects are in sync, it makes it so much easier to stay on track with your health and wellbeing goals.

Understanding Cravings and Addictions: We’ve all been there—those cravings that seem impossible to ignore. Through gentle exploration, I help my clients understand the emotional triggers behind their cravings and addictive behaviours. By uncovering the root causes, we can develop healthier ways of coping, allowing you to break free from negative patterns and create a more balanced relationship with food and emotions.

The Yin and Yang of Food: Getting your nutrition right can be tricky, especially when extreme foods push your body into unhealthy patterns. I guide my clients to understand the balance between "yin" and "yang" foods, helping them make choices that support their health without falling into the trap of yo-yo dieting. By recognising the ebb and flow of different foods, you can nourish your body in a way that’s both sustainable and effective.

Mindfulness: Mindfulness is key to overall wellbeing. Through practices like meditation, breathwork, and mindful eating, I help my clients tune into their body and mind with more awareness and acceptance. By integrating mindfulness into your daily routine, you can develop a stronger connection to yourself and a deeper sense of balance in your life.

Exploring Past Trauma: Trauma, whether big or small, can leave lasting effects on how we see ourselves and interact with the world. These old wounds can cause us to react to current situations through the lens of past experiences. I support my clients in exploring and healing these hidden traumas, using Somatic practices with an Internal Family Systems Focus, to release limiting thought patterns and beliefs. By increasing internal attachment to vulnerable parts of yourself, you unlock the ability to live a more fulfilling and healthy life.

In a nutshell, working with me as your Wellness Coach is about embracing a holistic approach to health—one that’s guided by empathy, personalised care, and a focus on your unique journey. By honouring your bio-individuality, nurturing your primary foods, and addressing past trauma, together we’ll unlock the door to a healthier, more joyful life.
